Our School

A Tradition of Excellence

J.T. Moore is an International Baccalaureate World School that feeds into the IB Diploma Programme at Hillsboro High School.

We aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

We engage students, families, and the community to help students become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Community service is a critical component of the IB program of study, and we strive to help students understand and embrace its importance. Additionally, teachers receive ongoing training in this academically challenging curriculum.

“How does a school begin? A need brings ideas, ideas transform into diagrams, diagrams into a building. John Trotwood Moore Junior High School became individual and unique at the idea stage. It is the proof of a successful experiment. And now the idea has been conceived.”-1970 Matador Yearbook
